May FBC is a Southern Baptist Church located in May, Brown County, Texas. Currently we have an active membership of approximately 250 members, with an average attendance since live services resumed following the COVID 19 shutdown of approximately 110 persons weekly. Prior to the COVID 19 shutdown average attendance was approximately 160 persons weekly. We currently have a staff consisting of our youth pastor, music and worship director, children’s ministry leader, and secretary. Our grounds contain a sanctuary, education center, fellowship hall, offices and parsonages.
The community of May is mostly a rural farming and ranching community. It is not an incorporated city and has no local governing body other than Brown County Commissioners. The population of May proper is approximately 285 persons but the community stretches to Lake Brownwood and beyond county lines following the boundaries of May Independent School District, with an overall population and mission field of approximately 1,929 persons.
May ISD, which has an enrollment of approximately 270 students, is located directly across from the church and covers approximately 270 square miles. This helps establish our largest mission field as we strive to reach out to the young people of our community and their families.
