We ask that you prayerfully search for God’s will and the needs of this church and community in filling out this survey. This committee is diligently searching for the same to assist May FBC in finding the new pastor God is preparing for us. You can be a great help to us in this endeavor by filling out this survey and continually praying for this committee as we undertake the task before
us.
You can find the Biblical qualifications for a pastor in 1 Timothy 3:1-7. These, of course, cannot be changed as they are from God’s Word. In addition, our church Constitution requires that the pastor shall be a duly licensed and ordained male minister of the gospel, meeting the scriptural qualifications, in fellowship with the denonminational agencies and other Christian groups with which the church is cooperating. However, there are also other things to consider in calling a new pastor that best meets our needs. These are the things with which we need your help.
The purpose of this survey is two-fold. First, to assist this committee in finding the right profile (education, training, characteristics, spiritual gifts, etc.) for the pastor who can best meet our needs and mission. Second, to help us provide the finalist for consideration of the pastor position, a profile (demographics of the community, church attendance, Sunday school attendance, makeup of households, contribution to missions, spiritual growth, etc.) of our congregation and community. We must not only choose a pastor, but the pastor must choose us and know that he is called to minister to this congregation.
We thank you for your assistance and time in filling out this survey. The information collected by the surveys will be used for no other purposes than those stated.
PLEASE COMPLETE THE SURVEY NO LATER THAN JUNE 21, 2020.
