March 27, 2020

We just wanted to provide you with an update for what will be happening this Sunday, March 29. Dr. Fowler has very kindly agreed to bring the message through live stream.

March 20, 2020

UPDATE: Because of the recent executive order signed by Governor Abbott, we will be suspending all corporate meetings at the church until further notice. Sunday morning worship services will still be streamed on our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/mayfirstbaptistchurch.

May students will continue their Bible studies on Wednesday evenings through Facebook and Instagram.

MARCH 18, 2020

May First Baptist Family,

This time we find ourselves in is one that should not be met with panic, however, it does demand a response. Therefore, the leadership of our church have met and prayed in order to seek out God's will at this time. The following are steps we have decided are best for our church along with a few pointers in navigating this situation:

1. If you are sick or feeling ill, stay home. Remember you are responsible for your own health, and we as a church want to encourage all who are not feeling well or have compromised immune systems to be sure they are doing everything they can to stay healthy. We will be live streaming our services starting March 22 on our Facebook page, so you can be sure not to miss out on anything.

2. We have already begun and will continue to take further precautionary measures to ensure that our faculties are clean. Every door handle and hard surface will be wiped down before every service, and we will keep as many doors open as possible to help prevent the spread of germs.

3. During our welcome time, we will encourage attendees to not engage in hugs or handshakes rather to greet one another with limited contact.

4. Please continue to wash your hands frequently and use hand sanitizer when necessary. Sanitizer is made avaliable in our church foyer.

5. If the time comes when the leadership decides that all activities at the church should cease, we will continue to live stream our Sunday morning meetings.

6. Even though this is a difficult time for all, please remain faithful in giving, as our church relies heavily on the support of its members. We have now made online giving available on our website in addition to the options of mailing it directly to the church or dropping it off at the church office.

While this is a time of worry for many, it can be a time for God's church to respond with wisdom, peace, faith, and comfort.

Blessings,
Your Church Leadership
